Entry Requirements And Visa Extension

Bureaucracy is less of a problem than it used to be, with visitors entitled to an automatic 21-day visa when they arrive. Make sure you have an onward ticket and a passport that is valid for at least six months. If you get a visa beforehand you will be entitled to 59 days, or you can simply get an extension of up to 59 days at immigration offices in Manila and many provincial towns (P510). Don't forget to take your passport and return airline ticket. Many resorts in the more popular areas will arrange extensions for you for a fee. Extensions beyond 59 days take more time and can usually only be arranged through Manila, although some cities, like Cebu, can process the forms on site.
